MEET JULIE, ELISA & SAMANTHA
Meet co-founders Julie, Elisa and Samantha, sisters extraordinaire!
The Founders of A2 D2 - Aerial Dance Cirque Co., Samantha, Elisa, and Julie, have been serving the event
industry through their business since 2008.
The DeAngelis sisterly tag-team has come a long way since humble beginnings – A2D2 has grown from offering their handful of “sister acts” (including hoop, double hoop, and dance routines) into a robust entertainment service with several resident professional
performers and an additional 35 artists on the company’s roster. Acts range from aerial silks, aerial hoop, static trapeze, hand-balancing, contortion, acrobats, characters, dancers to name just a few! In 2010, A2D2 established and purchased a facility for Cirque Centre, essentially, headquarters for the company rehearsals. Because of a demand for circus arts training in the City of Mississauga, the ladies
decided to run a few classes out of the studio just to satisfy the requests. Not long after, the classes expanded beyond hoop and silks to include a variety of cirque disciplines alongside an intensive training program designed for students who wanted to train at a higher level and eventually compete provincially. Over the years in the events industry A2D2's client list has grown to include major corporations of all kinds
including but not limited to: West Jet Corporation, Enmax, BMO, TD Bank, Scotiabank, BMW, City of
Toronto, City of Mississauga, University of Warterloo, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Ripley’s Aquarium,
Canadian Tire, Union Gas Co, Arbonne Canada, Honda and numerous third party planners, agents and
industry partners. The company has had the opportunity to create, develop and engineer unique one-of-
a-kind acts in Canada including; but not limited to; Cirque-u-l’air, Circus-Sphere, Cirqle, Culinary Cruiser
The Founders combined, hold various industry certifications including the Wedding Planners Institute of
Canada (WPIC) & Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) to name a couple…. In addition, each of
the team have taken countless hours out of their business and lives to volunteer for industry
associations and important charitable causes. In addition, the company has received many local and
national accolades for their quality of service and creative productions.
The ladies love to entertain and are grateful for the opportunity to do something they love every day
through the vehicle of A2D2 . Mostly, they are grateful for their parents, Bob & Joni DeAngelis who have
been championing the creation of A2D2 since day one. With out this critical support the sisters feel they
would not be where they are today.
Meet your Virtual Event Specialists
Virtual Event Specialists ~ Julie, Elisa & Samantha
A2D2 Founders & partners Julie, Elisa, and Samantha have twelve years of experience in the live events space. When world-pandemic status was declared in March of 2020, all live events everywhere were postponed or outright cancelled.
Not easily deterred by the obstacles the ladies set out to pivot their live event & entertainment activations to hybrid/ livestream and virtual productions. From spring of 2020 onwards, what would follow would be a sequence of experiences that have equipped the partners with the background knowledge and real-time field experience to produce entertaining, inspiring, and engaging events, seminars, and conferences for their clients and audiences.
The ladies believe the keys to a successful and engaging virtual experience lies in having the right combination of engagement, content, applicable tools, tech support, and a professional team to pull it all off. From ten months of producing in this space exclusively - Julie, Elisa, and Samantha have found that the biggest misconception about digital events/ classes/seminars and conferences is that it is “easier” and therefore “cheaper” to execute. In fact, this couldn’t be further from the truth! The digital event experiences involve massive amounts of micro-planning with teams of people in order to ensure a seamless, engaging and inclusive experience for all.
Important production considerations include a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy, a constructive show flow, strategic coordination between all remote and on-site elements in addition to robust tech support & technical contingency plans.
Currently, alongside producing in the hybrid and digital space, the partners and upgrading their event certifications to include VEI (Virtual Event Institute) designations with completion slated for the end of January 2021.
Julie, Elisa & Samantha are excited to take on more and more digital and hybrid projects in 2021.
